Intelligent Laser Applications’ Frank Michaux to visit Australia During October

Intelligent Laser Applications (ILA) PIV applications engineer will be touring several combustion and flow dynamics labs in South Australia, Victoria, ACT, and New South Wales from the 7th to the 17th of October. Frank has over 8 years of industrial experience in computational fluid dynamics and related experimental techniques such as Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) and Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV). In 2012 he joined ILA as the head of the PIV department to use his specialised experience to benefit a wider range of end-users. He is available on request for visits and discussions throughout his visit, and is very happy to share some of his experiences working with F1 racing teams in their efforts to squeeze every last ounce of performance from these exhilarating examples of engineering.

Please contact Dr. Dale Otten to request a booking for yourself or your department by Tuesday September 23rd. He is currently scheduled for visits and seminars at the University of Adelaide on Wednesday October 8th. Other venues and times in Sydney and Melbourne TBC.

ILA - Complete PIV, µPIV, LDA Systems and More

Intelligent Laser Applications is an optical measurement company focusing on flow measurements for a wide variety of end-user applications. They provide complete integrated systems and services to university and industry, such as:

Their individual expertise is significant, and strong connections to the world of F1 establish them as a critical group of technologists in an extremely competitive and real-world application space. Please contact Dale Otten or Paul Wardill to find out how we can use ILA’s expertise and turn-key systems to take the turbulence out of your flow experimentation.

Quantel Evergreen – Purpose-built PIV Laser Systems

Capitalising on Quantel USA’s history of ruggedised pulse Nd:YAG laser systems, the recently expanded EverGreen family of dual-pulse lasers is ideal for applications in particle imaging velocimetry (PIV). The EverGreen is a multi-cavity 532 nm laser system platform now capable of:

  • Up to 340mJ per pulse (680mJ per pulse pair)
  • Up to 200Hz
  • Hermetically sealed head and optics for protection from typical PIV environments
  • No optical adjustments required
  • 2 year warranty with optical overlap guaranteed
  • 100 million shot flashlamp lifetime, guaranteed

The Evergreen is installed in less time than it takes to unpack the device, and integrates cleanly into ILA’s PIV system cart for a truly contained and portable PIV experimentation station.

Quantel also offers the Brilliant Twins, BSL Twins, and YG platforms where even higher energy are required.

Please contact Dale Otten or Paul Wardill today to learn how we can simplify and improve your PIV experience with these purpose built systems.
