New Compact Polarising Microscope

Slim and compact, the new Eclipse Ci-POL from Nikon is a polarising microscope that doesn't occupy your entire desk. With cutting-edge CFI60 Infinity Optics, it offers advanced optical performance and user-friendly operation. A built-in capture button located near the front of the microscope base allows easy imaging with the DS series cameras. Episcopic polarisation may be added to the diascopic setup with the addition of the universal epi-illuminator. Read more online or download the brochure.

Advanced Polarised Light Microscopy

Nikon's Eclipse polarising microscopes are renowned for their ability to produce brighter, clearer, and higher contrast images. The Eclipse LV100 POL, available in diascopic and episcopic microscope illumination types, continues this tradition and offers a completely reengineered base for even easier operation. It also features an exclusive high-intensity halogen light source, which delivers brighter images, lower power consumption and less heat generation, thereby reducing the chance of heat-induced focus drift. New CMOS Cameras from Nikon

Nikon is pleased to announce that two new cameras have been added to the Digital Sight Series, the first to be equipped with the Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor. The DS-Ri2 provides high resolution, superior colour reproduction and fast frame rates for smooth focusing. The monochrome DS-Qi2 enables high-definition monochrome imaging, with low readout noise and high quantum efficiency. Read more online or download the brochure.

Automated Nikon Microscope Supports Rock Analysis

Petrog is a petrographic textural and compositional analysis tool for the oil industry which can be easily configured for the collection of igneous, metamorphic, ore, biostratigraphic or coal data. It features a fully motorised high precision stepping stage, quantitative compositional and textural data capture. When combined with one of Nikon’s polarising microscopes and digital cameras, this automated point-counting system is much faster and more accurate than visual microscopy and tick-box recording of results. Powerful Benchtop Scanning Electron Microscope

As simple to use as a digital camera, the NeoScope II from JEOL/Nikon is a high resolution SEM that produces images with a large depth of field at magnifications ranging from 10X - 60,000X. It offers high and low vacuum operation, three selectable accelerating voltages, secondary electron, and back-scattered electron imaging. The NeoScope II accommodates samples up to 70mm in diameter and 50mm in thickness, and can examine conductive and non-conductive samples without any special sample preparation.

This all-new NeoScope II now offers integrated, full-featured Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), as an option, with SDD technology for elemental analysis and advanced analytical applications. Also available is a coating device which allows non-conductive samples to be observed in the SEI mode under high vacuum providing closer examination of the fine surface structure.
