Lake Shore 7400-S Vibrating Sample Magnetometer

Backed and supported by over 40 years of expertise in measurement technologies

Lake Shore’s fully integrated vibrating sample magnetometers (VSMs) are used to characterise the DC magnetic properties of materials as a function of magnetic field, temperature, and time. Available in three different variable gap electromagnet configurations providing fields up to 3.42 T, Lake Shore VSM systems are sensitive, low-noise floor electromagnet-based VSMs that feature a broad temperature range capability -4.2 K to 1,273 K (-269°C to 1000°C).

  • 1 × 10-7 emu noise floor at 10s/pt
  • 7.5 × 10-7 emu noise floor at 0.1s/pt
  • High stability ±0.05% per day
  • Excellent reproducibility
  • Fields to 3.42T
  • Widest available temperature range -4.2K to 1,273K
  • Vector, magnetoresistance, and autorotation options

These systems measure a wide range of sample types, making them ideal tools for the most demanding materials research applications as well as quality control of magnetic materials. An assortment of options, including low temperature cryostats, a high temperature oven, a single stage variable temperature assembly, vector coils, autorotation, and an MR probe expand the functionality of Lake Shore VSM systems.

New materials push the limits of electromagnet-based VSM systems. Lake Shore combines high sensitivity, precision electronics, flexible software, and variable magnetic field and temperature into the most advanced electromagnet-based VSM. The high level of technical support and service we provide exemplifies our commitment to the research community and industry.
