Coherent Inc's bend insensitive fibres are designed for improved bend performance in reduced radius applications. The fibres employ a moderately higher numerical aperture (NA) than standard single-mode telecome fibres. The moderate NA delivers lower bend loss at 1550, 1310 and 780nm without significantly affecting splicing performance. Higher numerical aperture fibres are available upon request to further reduce the sensitivity of the fibre to bend loss.
