Bruker Webinar : ARM-IR - Applications for Better Health

Bruker Webinar : ARM-IR - Applications for Better Health

Day : Thursday 31 August

Time: 2am NZST, 12:00 midnight AEST, 10pm AWST (Wed 30)

AFM-IR offers a powerful method for characterizing biologically active materials and biological tissue on the nanometer to millimeter size scales that are important for biological function. The presentation will focus on two examples:

  • Aerosol formulations for asthma and COPD treatment
  • Material fatigue studies of Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACLs)

AFM-IR enables evaluation of drug co-localization in the 1-5 micron particles relevant to lung delivery for the ~300 million people suffering from chronic airway disease. AFM-IR also enables the assessment of material fatigue in the ACL, relating structure changes to mechanical properties.

Speaker: Mark M. Banaszak Holl, Ph.D., University of Alabama at Burmingham
