Dragonfly is an established high-speed, microlens spinning disk confocal microscope which excels at live cell, embryo and tissue imaging. Dragonfly 600 introduces new features which extend its range in both nanometer resolution and centimeter extent. In this webinar Mark Browne, Director of Microscopy Systems at Andor, will review new hardware features which include oblique illumination tool, B-TIRF®, the high-powered laser engine, HLE-700 and improved astigmatic encoding for 3D single molecule localisation microscopy (SMLM). New software tools and workflows combine Andor’s Fusion, Imaris and open-source Picasso for SMLM. We will share example data from live-cell imaging, DNA-PAINT, expansion microscopy (ExM) and spatial omics to illustrate the broad range of applications to which this powerful platform can be applied.

Learning Objectives:

  • The operating principle of microlens spinning disk confocal microscope and application to live-cell imaging.
  • The principle and benefits of oblique illumination and the unique features of B-TIRF®
  • DNA-PAINT: principal, acquisition strategies, processing and visualisation

Mark Browne is the Director of Microscopy Systems at Andor, where he has contributed to research and development of new microscopy and imaging platforms.
